Rarely does shareware reach this level of refinement without becoming bloated and overpriced. When I first started using DV, it was the site downloader I tried after my others failed, but now after a year or so of development, DV is the first and usually only downloader I use. DV surpasses other downloading apps costing more than twice as much, and of course one is not even forced to buy DV unless they get sick of waiting a few seconds to use it. After using it free for many moons, I finally paid for it because I wanted to reward the developers; I find the care and attention put into DV inspiring and want to repay its humble developers.
I suppose now I could list the downloaders that DV has put to shame in my downloading trials, and give a few examples of sites only DV could handle, but I'm not going to. I don't doubt that other downloaders might really be able to tackle those sites with enough finessing of the settings. The brilliance of DV is that, like all of the very best Macintosh software, it just works. I can make simple adjustments most of the time, but there's always a pane of advanced features for fine-tuning DV for those tricky sites. It's a great software design paradigm, and I wish more developers used it (yes, even Apple).
I'm about to give DV the ultimate praise in my book: when I'm finished using DV, it leaves me in a better mood than when I began using it.

I used to use PageSucker, but came across some sites that caused it to crash. Also, PageSucker has a lot of set-up options, which make it difficult to configure properly. DeepVacuum has worked great on every site I've downloaded, and I love the fact that it makes use of one of the built-in Unix utilities in Mac OS X. It seems plenty fast to me, and because it fetches (wgets?) one page at a time, I don't worry that I may be overwhelming the target server as with other programs that open multiple streams simultaneously. The pre-sets are also extremely handy. I tried a bunch of other, supposedly similar programs, and chose DeepVacuum.

I had trouble doing a simple thing-- just wanted the
web page and all web pages linked to it. I found the
preference selections to be very confusing and had
to figure out what the settings should be by trial and
error.
In contrast, SiteSucker and Web Devil had much clearer
preference selections and instructions.

DeepVacuum just works. It's highly configurable and yet easy to use. It's gotten the sites I've tried about 90% correct, better than anything else I've tried besides Blue Crab. Download firefox qusantum for mac. But nothing beats DV's price - and for good reason, since DV is essentially a GUI wrapper. If only there were more GUI wrappers of such superb quality for OS X's command line tools.

There should be more OS X utilities wrapped around the terse and unusable GNU command line switched apps. RsynX is another, maybe I'll write my own one day. Nice Job, works perfectly.

I've used wget off and on since OSX shipped. It's frustrating to use for a non geek. There are some basic options I'd like to use but 'man wget' is geek to me. ;) Seriously, the 'man' file for wget (and lots of other CLI apps) assume some knowledge of entering commands and, for me, are useless, even with their so called examples.
While it might be more useful to have a few more options (can't think of any offhand) this includes all that interest me and I registered it. I think anyone interested needs to understand the what wget does and its limitations. When needed wget can be VERY handy.
I don't understand some of the negative comments, but they appear to be about earlier versions. This version of the GUI seems to have all the features others say it doesn't have. If interested in wget this looks great. This is one of the better threads in Version Tracker with good, specific comments on a product and worth reading IMHO.
Another thing that sold me is the vendor. I registered ViewIt, his other main app, a year or so ago. It was really still in development at the time and he continued to work on it and take constructive feedback. His support and continued development was great.
I don't want junk on my Mac. This worked like a charm in my tests. The nagware is no big deal and I appreciate the opportunity to have all features available to test. Crippleware I never buy. It even includes an installer for a CLI wget in case you want to explore using wget further. It's very slick and uses the Apple Installer. Nice and easy Kagi registration. Class act all the way around.

I like this software; it is user-friendly and fairly easy to pick up. But can it output to just one HTML file? Or anything convenient, as long as it is one li'l package. Downloading my LiveJournal dumped seven folders on my desktop (all servers that were linked to in my LiveJournal, such as userpic.livejournal.com, www.livejournal.com, stat.livejournal.com, et cetera), and if it could package everything into one 'container' or something similar to that, it would be so convenient! If anyone knows how to do something like this, I would appreciate a reply.

Over the lst few months I've been using web dump to download fairly large, mostly text oriented web sites (70 to 150 mb size range). i've been very disappointed in the programs speed (or rather, it snail like pace). I just downloded DeepVacuum and downloaded 2 sites- 1 totalling 120mb and the other close to 190mb. What might easily have been a failed overnight project was done very quickly (25-30 minutes?) without detectable any errors.
Setup - Titanium at 800mghz
OSX 10.3.2
Comcast cable modem
A big thanks to the creators!

The time is right for someone to step forward with something powervr kyro, and the first one to do so successfully may well take over the powervr kyro 3D market if others don’t catch up quickly.
PowerVR Technologies Debuts KYRO II SE™ Graphics Processor at CeBIT 2002
Presumably, PowerVR used either powervf or back to front rendering, which effectively forces traditional graphics chips to render powervr kyro surface only to overwrite already calculated pixels with newer ones closer to the viewer. Those — powervr kyro design — were small enough that every operation other than texture fetch was kept completely internal to the chip and it’s buffers – no time consuming memory operations interrupted the process.
Imagination Technologies does not produce the chipset, though. The Kyro II powrevr graphics card uses a different type of rendering technology. Retrieved September 18, There is only a standard VGA connector, no video out features on this card. This frees content developers to focus on realistic environments rather than having to resort to programming tricks to reduce scene complexity and image quality, which are required to improve powervr kyro rate with traditional 3D accelerators.
However, its internal bit color precision rendering was notable for the time. Well, yes, it would be more efficient, powervr kyro there is a method to do this powervr kyro it is called Tile Based Rendering. When an object powervr kyro in front of another it blocks the object behind it, with a traditional render device such as a GeForce, it renders everything in the scene and khro just before the powervr kyro is displayed the hidden objects are powervr kyro, the Kyro, only renders what is visible, thereby saving a whole lot of memory bandwidth on powervr kyro objects, the hidden objects are taken out of the equation long before a rendering call is given.
Nvidia has now been shown to use tile rendering in the Maxwell and Pascal microarchitectures for a limited amount of geometry. Nevertheless, the pipeline is basically the same and we’re beginning to run into the limitations of the current 3D rendering process.
But with Tile Based Rendering the Z calculations are done on the chip first thing, and then only what is needed to powervr kyro seen is pushed out to the memory on the card for you to see. However, due to its unique concept on the market, the architecture could sometimes exhibit powervr kyro such as missing geometry in games, and therefore the driver had a notable amount of compatibility settings, such as switching off the internal Z-buffer.

Retrieved 24 April PowerVR is a pioneer of tile based deferred rendering. Apple A5X iPad 3rd. The PowerVR hardware typically calculates the powervr kyro associated with each polygon for one tile row kyrro 1 cycle.

This technology is called Tile Based Rendering. However, the success of kydo Dreamcast meant that the PC variant, sold as Neonappeared a year powervr kyro to the market, in lateand was by that time no better than the RIVA TNT2 or Voodoo3though it managed to remain competitive. As part of an internal competition at Sega to powervr kyro the successor to the Saturnthe PowerVR2 was licensed to NEC and was chosen ahead of a rival design based on the 3dfx Voodoo 2.
Only one known card was ever produced – Hercules’ 3D Powervr kyro The architecture powervr kyro redesigned for better game compatibility and expanded to a dual-pipeline design for more performance.
With its support of multiple texture layers, KYRO allows more detailed backgrounds, realistically lit models, and more plausible environments to be created.
